Royal analysts have blamed Prince Harry’s decision to skip interviews for the paperback release of Spare for the book’s poor sales. Although the memoir was a hit in the past, the revised edition, which was published on October 24, did not draw much attention and ended up in a dismal 73rd place in the UK charts.
Only 3,000 copies of Spare were sold in its second week, significantly below the Official UK Top 50 and well below expectations.
There were no modifications or new content added to the Penguin Random House paperback edition since it was first released.
Its poor success might have been caused in part by this dearth of new material and Harry’s decision to forego any promotional interviews. ...
